Kelly* visited the New Life Pregnancy Center for a free pregnancy test. When the test was positive, she stated she wanted to have an abortion. The center staff talked with Kelly, explaining the truth about life in the womb and encouraging her to choose a positive option for her baby like parenting or placing her child for adoption. She agreed to come to the center the following day for a free ultrasound, however, upon arriving she was disoriented and left undecided about her pregnancy.
Months went by until Kelly returned to the center for another free pregnancy test. The staff immediately recognized her and asked how she had been since her last visit. She replied that she was in a much better place now, sober and in a stable relationship. However, she stated she regretted deciding to have an abortion in the fall. Kelly began to cry and said it was the biggest regret of her life. Tearfully, she shared how she kept thinking, “This is wrong, this is not natural, I should not be doing this,” but pushed those thoughts away and went through with the abortion.
Kelly knew she was pregnant again and hoped to receive another free ultrasound from New Life Pregnancy Center. She said she would never have another abortion after her experience and was very excited about this baby. She thanked the staff for being supportive of her, and for offering care without judgment so that she felt safe returning to the center even after her abortion. The staff was able to talk with Kelly about God’s merciful forgiveness and the freedom he could provide her. She thanked the staff and they prayed together.
A few weeks later, Kelly returned to the center with her boyfriend for the ultrasound. The ultrasound technician was amazed and said the baby performed like nothing she had seen before! At 12 weeks, the baby was lifting his head and moving around nonstop! Kelly and her boyfriend were overjoyed to see this new baby, and tearfully thanked the center for all the help she received.
